Wonderful catamaran ride

Covid restrictions when we arrive to Antigua prohibited water sports for a period of time including catamarans. My original reservation was for September 30 and once we arrived I realize that the secondary sight I had booked through allowed me to reserve a spot on a day the catamarans were not running. Nexus tours quickly rebooked me to a different day which was much appreciated. The catamaran leaves from the main harbor and transfer was included in our fee. Although we were staying at one of the main resorts on the island. We had the option to upgrade our Caribbean lunch to lobster for an extra $25 per person which we declined. Lunch included Caribbean jerk fish and chicken, rice and peas, potatoes and a dinner salad. Portions were plenty and the lobster did look pretty good. The tour started with hand sanitizing upon entrance and they did ask us to stay in the same spots on the boat the whole trip but most people disregarded that after we got into the open air. The boat was not filled to capacity so social distancing was available if you preferred. The captain shared several fun pieces of information about the history of the island and some of the natural sites that we can see from the boat. We stopped at a coral reef for a guided snorkel. For those who have never snorkeled it was probably enjoyable but it is sad that the reef is mostly dead and they’re only a few fish. We opted to end the snorkeling short for ourselves and get back on the boat to enjoy the open bar. After snorkeling we enjoyed lunch and a stop at a quiet beach. Then we sailed home and we were dropped right at our resorts private beach at the Royalton since it was on the way. Most people ended back at the harbor. The boat staff was very friendly, the snorkeling gear seemed to be sanitized efficiently and they did attempt to implement as many social distancing procedures as you can on a sailboat even though not all occupants wanted to comply.

Fabulous!

Amazing experience! Crew was knowledgeable, fun and very friendly. Food was delicious and plenty of opportunity to do the snorkelling with the group or just chill on the boat instead. Stop for dipping in the gorgeous waters also part of it. Great music and great variety of good alcoholic and non—alcoholic drinks. Overall, extremely enjoyable!

Enjoyable, not quite as expecting

Enjoyable day, staff professional and friendly. It wasn’t quite what we were expecting. Late getting on the catamaran, due to away picking people up and not able to get in until cruise liner had docked. We ended up not snorkelling as water so choppy and current strong you really needed to be a strong swimmer. Lunch lovely but eating on the boat while moving wasn't and so choppy wasn't easy. We thought we would be stopping for lunch. All in all a good day out but not quite as expected.
